Check out AvVida.co.uk : Back in early Spring we went on a short adventure to explore some of what Northern Spain has to offer. Armed with a wadge of regional Michelin Maps, and a ‘no-plan plan’, we set off.

In Part 1 we headed from the Bilbao ferry port on a very round-about way South, into the La Rioja region, Sierra De La Demanda and then up to Llanes to sit out a rather sh**e weather front coming in with some good food, cider and wine! Happy days! A special thanks to Duncan Ryn Gough for taking the time to have a chat with us and offer some pearls of wisdom.

What a fabulous long weekend! I took myself and my trusty DR650 to the 10th anniversary of the @overlandevent . Thoroughly shattered but in a good way.

I made it to a record breaking (for me) number of talks/workshops…14 in total, plus 3 yoga sessions, talked to a good few new people, caught up with a few friends, and randomly bumped in to a friend we met in South America a few years ago, got plenty of inspiration (let the dreaming commence), and have a new book to read that I’m excited about reading! Don’t think I made it up past midnight once?! 😂 Thanks to all of you who took your time to have a chat. ☺️

The field was practically empty by the time I finally left, but managed to get the tent down in the dry at least, after a huge downpour!

A huge thanks to Paddy and Saul and the whole team. It was fabulous! Literally the best motorcycle travel event. The best vibe. The best people.

Only a handful of photos as I barely got my phone out all weekend. Definitely failed on that front yet again!

Plus a huge thanks to the @docbikeuk team, I learnt lots.

We completed the @northdevonmotorclub Exmoor Trial 2025! 💪 A really great event that we can highly recommend if you’ve had a bit of time riding on green roads and want to try a Long Distance Trial (Classic Trial).
